It’s rare when you have the opportunity to work with a colleague that ‘gets it’, one who has the same mindset, but when working together the process is enhanced. It affords deep brainstorming and evolves studies to a level we might not have arrived at alone.

This is the case with our partnership. Having worked together for several years as client and supplier on numerous successful campaigns, making them even better, we decided that our unique process could be helpful to all types of companies at any stage of the business development.

Carla Roberts - Founder & Consultant

AGENCY ORIGINS

Carla started as a Focus Group Moderator with BBDO NY, facilitating multiple groups a day for years, where she established a strong foundation of skills. Research was the backbone of the agency 70-person research team that conducted multiple studies for every client. At the core was The 4-Point Process, deployed for every client to develop a successful advertising strategy, the foundation of every campaign, she uses to this day. Next as the Creative Research Director she used million-dollar budgets to conduct research specifically for the creative department. Later she branched into the role of Copywriter, working with the best and brightest of BBDO, using her research knowledge to translate great insights into winning copy. Next, Carla became BBDO Research Director of the San Francisco branch office maximizing the value of both qualitative and quantitative research.

TEAM 360 RESEARCH WAS BORN

Carla ventured out on her own consulting business, taking her years of planning, strategy, and research experience across numerous industries to corporate accounts, advertising agencies and Direct Response companies, developing long-standing partnerships. For the past 25 years, she has run a successful consulting business and applies a research style that offers a strong marketing orientation combined with a unique understanding of the creative process.  

She melded her expertise in general rate advertising with her extensive experience in the DR industry to create proprietary research techniques that work in the unique medium.  Direct Response research requires specialization, the skills of a trained professional with a global understanding of both the DR process and of the consumer.  

ENTREPRENEUR

Over the years Carla has also fed her entrepreneurial spirit by starting multiple companies that filled a unique niche in health and wellness.  She even started a call center in the process. This allowed Carla’s strong business sense to flourish, as she oversaw every aspect of business development, including product development, customer service, finance, operations, marketing, and sales.

Laura Brodeur - Consultant

CORPORATE FOUNDATION

Laura began her career at Johnson & Johnson in the consumer division, where her introduction to research started in Category Management.  As a connection point between Sales and Marketing, Laura acted as a “consultant” to strategic retail partners, translating consumer demographic, buying insights and market data into actionable, strategic assortment, pricing, and promotional recommendations for the buyers across the entire competitive landscape.  Then shifting to the Neutrogena Marketing team, Laura was immersed in every aspect of managing the business, from strategic planning, new product development and advertising, to operations, supply chain and finance.  The perfect environment to understand the “client perspective.”

CONSULTING

Laura went on to become the VP of Client Services, overseeing client project management for the DuMont Project, a boutique consulting and marketing agency, and then Launch DRTV, a full-service production house.  Laura helped Corporate and Direct Response clients across a variety of industries to drive business model enhancement, new product and new brand launch planning, creative development, production, media buying, consumer research, and organizational structure/process.
